21 July 10

Five local companies have been recognised for their work in supporting the training and development of young people.

Johnsons Photopia Service Solutions, North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, Ibstock Brick, Headways (The Brain Injury Association) and AWS Electronics were all nominated in the annual Education and Business Awards, hosted by the Staffordshire Partnership.

The awards were held on 13 July 2010 at the Staffordshire County Show Ground.

All five companies were nominated by Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) for their commitment to supporting the College in delivering hands-on experience to students.

Ann Yoxall Schools Employer Link Programme Co-ordinator at the College, said: “Newcastle-under-Lyme College is committed to ensuring our students leave the college ready to lead successful lives. We’re very grateful for the support of local businesses in helping us to get our students ready for the next step in their life – whether that’s into work or further learning.”

Staffordshire Partnership is an Education Business Partnership for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, working in partnership with all key local organisations and businesses to support, deliver and broker opportunities for young people
