Newcastle-under-Lyme College welcomes applications from international students. In fact, over the last few years, international students have come to study on many different types of qualification across different levels at the College.

We offer the following range of specialist programmes for international students:

  • AS/A Levels in Accounting, Business Studies, Information Technology and Psychology
  • BTEC National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • International Foundation Programme (IFP) with degree Foundation Years in: Psychology and Art and Design

Entry requirements

International students who wish to pursue an academic or vocational course at the College will need to be at least 16 years old [18 for the International Foundation Programme] and demonstrate ability in English.

For the International Foundation Programme (IFP) you will be expected to have IELTS 4•5 or above or the TOEFL equivalent. For all other courses you will need IELTS 5•5 or above. In addition you should be able to demonstrate good marks in subjects relevant to your future studies. As a guide, a minimum combination of at least 5 GCSEs at Grades A* - C are required for AS/A Level and BTEC National Diploma courses.

Costs

Fees for the International Foundation Programme and Foundation Year in Psychology are subject to Staffordshire University tuition fees. Visit the Staffordshire University website (www.staffs.ac.uk) for the latest information. All other programmes cost £5,400 per annum per person.

A non-returnable deposit of £500 is required prior to starting the course. All international students undertaking a two-year further education programme will be eligible for a bursary of £500.
