NVQ training and assessment is carried out completely in the workplace - so your employees don’t need to come into college or take exams. NVQs are nationally recognised and can help you meet standards for trained staffing levels as well as giving workers recognition for their skills and experience. Many NVQs can be delivered free of charge thanks to the Government's Train to Gain scheme.
Apprenticeships are government funded training schemes for those who would like to achieve an NVQ qualification whilst working, learning on the job and building up knowledge and skills. Apprentices spend four days a week at work and one day a week in college.
Higher education which has been developed collaboratively between employers and universities provides you with the skills you really need – practical and academic – for the future success of your business.
We offer hundreds of specialised programmes designed to provide industry accredited qualifications in professions such as: Accountancy (Sage, AAT, ACCA and CIMA), Art, Design and Media (Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver) and Leadership and Management (CMI). Our courses are delivered using the latest technology to equip your staff with a range of skills which can be directly transferred to the workplace.
We have a wide range of short courses, covering areas such as health and safety, first aid and customer service. These training courses can often be delivered in the workplace to groups of 6-20 staff at a time. A college tutor will visit your premises to deliver the training at a time to suit you. Our staff will be pleased to tell you about them and help you choose those that meet your needs.
Maths and English skills are a vital bedrock for further learning, and are essential both in the workplace and in life. The Government recognises this importance and, as such, provides free training courses for your employees.
Communication skills are essential in the workplace and our range of courses offer training in a breadth of areas, including making presentations and basic sign language. We also offer training in communicating with customers and specific technical programmes in interpersonal skills and counselling.
