Newcastle-under-Lyme College has now moved to a brand new, £60 million campus on Knutton Lane. Here, we answer some frequently asked questions about the redevelopment scheme.

1. What is the new college address?

The new college is located on Knutton Lane. The address is Newcastle-under-Lyme College, Knutton Lane, Newcastle, Staffordshire, ST5 2GB.

2. What is going to happen to the old college buildings at Liverpool Road?

The College sold its Liverpool Road site to Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd to raise funds for the new college. Sainsbury's plan to start building a mixed-use development from 4 January 2010. 

3. What will the Sainsbury’s development at Liverpool Road include?

The mixed-use development will include a Sainsbury’s superstore and petrol station, over 500 car parking spaces, and four 3-storey office units with 72 car parking spaces. The plans also include the provision of approximately 80 sheltered housing units, to be built by a specialist housing provider.

4. What will happen to the existing Sainsbury’s store in Liverpool Street?

The current store will remain open until the new Sainsbury’s store is complete in November 2010. Sainsbury’s will then move to the new store, with the creation of 160 full and part-time jobs.
