A Level Courses

Each year, around 1000 academic students from across Staffordshire and Cheshire choose to study A Levels at NULC.  Our A Level pass rates stand at 98.4%, with 176 students acheiving A* or A grades and two thirds of subjects acheiving 100% pass rates.

At NULC you can choose from A Levels in more than 33 different subjects, where our lecturers are passionate experts who provide high quality teaching. 

Are A Levels for you?

This is you:

  • I prefer exams to coursework
  • I like theories, ideas and facts
  • I want to study three subjects
  • I'd like to go to university or get an apprenticeship

You'll need:

Usually 5 or more A*-C (9-4) grades at GCSE, including maths and English (with A*- B (9-6) grades in the subject you want to study at A Level)

Your study programme:

  • 3 subjects over two years
  • Maths and English*
  • Relevant work experience

*Maths and English are essential and mandatory components of all study programmes at the College to ensure that you are prepared for continuing education or employment.  If you haven't yet achieved grades A* - C (9-4) in these important subjects you'll continue with timetabled maths and/or English sessions and retake appropriate qualifications alongside your main course.

As part of the Honours Programme, you'll get involved in extra and super curricular activities and experiences to help build your confidence, develop your skills and knowledge and improve your chances of achieving a place at a world class university.
