Newcastle & Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG)
Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) and Stafford College formally merged on Tuesday 1st November 2016, with all assets transferring to NULC. The newly merged group name is Newcastle & Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG).
Both colleges will retain their individual name and branding, local identity and educational characteristics whilst bringing individual strengths and assets to the partnership.
The merger creates one of the largest educational providers in Staffordshire, supporting over 5,500 full-time students, over 3,000 part-time students, 750 students on higher education programmes and over 2,500 apprentices. Lesson delivery and the day-to-day running of courses will not be impacted as a result of the merger. The newly formed group will employ over 1,000 staff and has a combined turnover in the region of £45 million, including NULC subsidiaries, Gradbach Limited & Axia Solutions Limited.
The Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group Corporation is the College's governing body. It comprises of 16 members with representation from local businesses, local councils and community groups. There are also staff and student members. The Corporation represents the particular interests of the local community and public interest in general. It oversees the way the College is run, making sure it meets the needs of the local community, school leavers and employers. More information can be found here.
The Corporations of Stafford College and Newcastle-under-Lyme College together held a formal public consultation from 13th June to 12th July 2016 on the proposal to merge the two institutions to create a new Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group. All feedback and responses can be found below.
